Description
These vacuum pods are made from solid PVC. The Pods are exactly 0.950” thick by 5” square. Machined flat on both sides for precision flatness.
With the two included valves, each valve controls one side of four of the pods at the same time. What this allows you to do is to place the pods down to the desired location, lock them down by vacuum using one of the two valves then you can load and reload your materials over the pods without disturbing their location.
Three out of the four pods have two T-type fittings with press connect fittings. To use the fittings, just push the cut hose into the fitting and it locks and seals. To remove the hose, just push in the green ring while pulling on the hose in the opposite direction at the same time. The fourth Pod has two single press fittings. This is your terminator pod. It is the last pod in the chain and closes up the vacuum as vacuum needs to be sealed for maximum strength.
As you can see there are also two more 90 degree slots in each pod side. This is if you need to reduce your vacuum area for a smaller material.
Note regarding holding and cutting MDF. These pods are NOT recommended for vacuum holding MDF. MDF is very porous and due to this it is very difficult to hold with vacuum unless the side being held is sealed with something like polyurethane.
