Description
The HG5030M Suction Clamp is a great way of vacuum clamping many types of materials. The holding force is great enough to be aggressive with machining provided the part that is being cut is large enough and the proper vacuum source was selected. If the skin method is being applied then the size of the material will be less of a concern. Our in house rule of thumb is anything less than 4 inches by 4 inches without the skin method should have additional help holding the part. This does not mean a part this small or smaller can’t be held solely with vacuum. It means the tooling size and force needs to be greatly reduced and experience plays a part as an experience operator of vacuum clamping understands what the boundaries are with vacuum and how to work around problematic situations always practicing safety especially when a new tool is introduced.
